Well, someone (don't recall who) mentioned to me that adding
glib-gettextize support might get rid of the problem where
<module>/po/ChangeLog ends up having cvs conflicts when a cvs
update is run. This would be helpful when running the v-b-s, since
the scripts halt whenever a cvs conflict occurs. The main
reason I am currently offering patches for modules is that it
would be nice to have v-b-s builds run completely through
without having to delete a conflicting file, export STARTMODULE
and rerun rebuild.sh a few times. The inclusion of the additional
changes in my patches is due to the fact that those changes are
recommended in addition to the glib-gettextize changes in the
Porting Guide.
I am not particularly worried about whether applying additional
changes is fraught with danger, since I am running my patches
past the maintainers. Hopefully, the maintainers will only
accept helpful patches. My hope is that I am being somewhat
helpful to the maintainers. If I am not, please let me know and
I'll back off.
Miles
