Hi,

Darin and Havoc have questioned a couple of things that are 
specified in the Porting Guide.  Specifically, both Darin and
Havoc would prefer that the changes that require a new autoconf
version not be made.

Darin has also asked why AC_DEFINE_UNQUOTED is necessary in
the glib-gettextize group of changes.

I would appreciate it if these issues could be discussed,
consensus reached and the Porting Guide updated, if necessary,
to reflect the porting changes that should be made.

If it is decided that the autoconf changes are undesirable,
there are a few modules that will need these changes reverted.
Likewise, a few modules have the AC_DEFINE_UNQUOTED line in
configure.in at this point.
