I really hate that, but, sorry, my fault. By putting yet more printf's in my
code, I realised that actually the reading of two bytes (that I thought was
instead of one) is in fact due to a previous readn(2).
So, again, sorry, no bug (well, not in gnet anyway), just my mistake :-(
