Compile Ver 1.13.9 on Ubuntu 9.10 - Karmic Koala

I am trying to compile Glom Source Ver 1.13.9 on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) 32 Bit.

I have done the following, and created a document so I will be able to duplicate my work down the road.
Old age is slowly taking it's toll.......

To Compile Glom 1.13.9 Source from Sourceforge.net for Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala

Already installed in Ubuntu:
libgdamm4.0-11
libxml++2.6-2
libgtkmm-2.4-1c2a  (Version 1:2.18.2-1)
libgconfmm-2.6-1c2 (Version 2.24.0-2)

1.  Install build-essential from Ubuntu 9.10 with Synaptics Package Manager.
2.  Install libbakery-2.6-common from Ubuntu 9.10 with Synaptics Package Manager.
    Bakery 2.6 requires:
      libxml++  (Already installed on Ubuntu 9.10)
      gtkmm     (Already installed on Ubuntu 9.10)
      libglademm  (Installed libglademm-2.4-1c2a  Version 2.6.7-2)
      gconfmm   (Already installed on Ubuntu 9.10)
      gnome-vfsmm  (Installed libgnome-vfsmm-2.6-1c2a Version 2.26.0-1)
3.  Installed intltool Version .41.0-0ubuntu1,..........because of this error message from output of ./configure

checking for intltool >= 0.35... ./configure: line 16018: intltool-update: command not found
 found
configure: error: Your intltool is too old.  You need intltool 0.35 or later.

4.  Ran ./configure and got these error messages:
checking for LIBGLOM... configure: error: Package requirements (gthread-2.0 giomm-2.4 libxml++-2.6 >= 2.23.1 pygda-4.0 >= 2.25.3 pygobject-2.0 >= 2.6.0 libgdamm-4.0 >= 3.99.18 libgda-4.0 >= 4.0.4 libgda-postgres-4.0 libepc-1.0 >= 0.3.1 avahi-ui) were not met:

No package 'gthread-2.0' found
No package 'giomm-2.4' found
No package 'libxml++-2.6' found
No package 'pygda-4.0' found
No package 'pygobject-2.0' found
No package 'libgdamm-4.0' found
No package 'libgda-4.0' found
Package libgda-4.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libgda-4.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package 'libgda-4.0', required by 'libgda-postgres-4.0', not found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBGLOM_CFLAGS
and LIBGLOM_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

Because I'm new to Ubuntu, and Compiling in Linux, I need a bit of help as to what the error message
is trying to tell me.  I've searched the Mailing list, and read all the postings about compile errors,
but didn't find the answer.  Now I'm stuck.....!

Is there a document on how to compile Glom available for us new folks?  It sure would make
it easier than begging for help at every step of the way.

I can't wait to try out the latest version on Ubuntu.

Thanks.

Larry
