Re: New

I'm trying to build glom from jhbuild but it is the hell!!

I get an error in gnutls version. jhbuild download gnutls-1.4 but libepc
uses gnutls-1.6. I try to skip gnutls because ubuntu have gnutls-1.6 but
libepc not compile:

/bin/sed: can't read /opt/gnome2/lib/libgnutls.la: No such file or
directory
libtool: link: `/opt/gnome2/lib/libgnutls.la' is not a valid libtool
archive

Can you send me your .jhbuildrc or help me? I'm into #gnome IRC if you
want to tell with me about this and another issues.

Hi all,

I'm new in the list. I like Glom and I want to help you with Glom fixing
bugs or implementing some features. First, I want to set all my
development environment in the better way.

I have Ubuntu 7.10 and I have downloaded the source code (gda, bakery
etc) from subversion and compile it without problems.

Perhaps is better install it with jhbuild instead downloading packages
manually. The problems is that jhbuild download a lot of packages that I
already have. If you think the better way is jhbuild, I will use it.

jhbuild is by far the best way to work with the Glom sources, (and the
sources of dependencies, which we also need to change sometimes), I
think. It just takes some time to set it up.

I will start studying a bit the source code and the I will try to fix
the bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499459

That would be really great. I doubt that it's anything very complicated.

If you have some ideas, documentation etc. that can help me, are
welcome.

Try using jhbuild and ask here or on gnome-love for help if you get
stuck.
