Wow, what a GREAT example.  I'm impressed how much this simple example
has taught me.  You should consider writing a complete HOWTO guide for
every type of widget there is ;-)

Seriously though, thanks...this has really helped out and was exactly
what I was looking for.  I've signed up to the gtkforums and will be
referencing that site a lot.
