This is a strange ghost story you have, you say you generated
the file with glade-2, and removed the signal manually from
the glade file, and libglade still connected the signal that
you removed from your glade file ?

either you have some code that is connecting the signal again
or you did not remove all the occurrences of the <signal> in
the glade file or something like that.
