I've managed to dupe this bug several times now.
Here's what I've done to get it to trigger every time:
Have glade2 open, with a project loaded. Have the window with the
menubar in question open.
open the preferences->themes dialog.
click on the details... button.
Then start changing between controls, pretty rapidly, until you seem to
be lagging from changing them. So basically the windows in the open
workspace only have a few seconds to complete changing to the new style
of controls before I click on another control theme. It doesn't seem
to matter which themes.
Go to Glade2, try and edit menus in a menu bar, and it hangs.
I'm on a stock RH 9.0 system, using glade2 1.1.3 which came with it.
Cheers,
Rikke

I recently started a project and decided to use glade2 (as that is
what
works with Gtk2).
Everything is going fine, but glade locks up whenever I click the
'Edit
Menus' item in the property window for a menu. I need to kill glade
forcibly.
I am running RedHat 9.0 if it matters.
Is this a known problem? Is there a fix? a patch? etc?
It is a known problem (and the worst bug in glade-2 at present).
See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105694
Changing themes may avoid the problem.
Unfortunately I can't reproduce it. I've tried making the code more
robust but that didn't seem to work.
If anyone can track it down in some way that would be helpful.
Damon
