[Gimp-user] Recurring mouse problem in GIMP 2.8.22

GIMP had been working all right, and then recently, probably after 
another Windows 10 "update," the mouse began to not work right in GIMP 
anymore. I can't click on menu items, I can't click on icons in the tool 
box and I often can't even click on the "X" at the side of the image to 
close it. A lot of the time GIMP works just fine, for a start. After a 
few minutes of using it, however, I get this problem.

It seems as if the mouse just is not working in the software.

So has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a fix for this?
