Re: [Gimp-user] Opening uncompressed NASA image files in GIMP

Thanks, Cliff.

That indeed gives me a whole lot more. Somehow I missed the + previously.

Plug-ins has a couple of addresses:

/Users/rickkline/Library/Application Support/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins
/Applications/GIMP-2.10.8.app/Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins

Pieter, using Chrome,

I go to Gimp.org, click on “Download (current version number)”, click on “Download GIMP (version number)
directly”

Download to a current version subfolder in Downloads.

Show downloaded .dmg in finder.

Double-click on (in this case) gimp-2.10.14-x86_64-1.dmg

In the Install window that opens, drag the GIMP-2.10.app to Applications folder icon. Wait for Copying
progress bar to complete. In Applications (in Finder), rename GIMP-2.10.app to (in this case)
GIMP-2.10.14.app then drag the renamed icon to the dock. Click on new icon in dock, Give permission to open
(first time only).

Note, error message that author of pds is unknown to system, so GIMP load stops and awaits Put in
Trash/Continue choice before completing load.

That's what it looks like before you open the "Folders" folder/dropdown.
Click on the arrow to the left of "Folders" in the left pane to see all the
directories.

I looked in Gimp > Preferences > Folders. The only two listed are
Temporary folder and Swap folder. No Plugins folder evident, probably
because no plugins were loaded.
