Problem with GIMP-2.10.10 using Mac OS X  10.14.4 (Mojave): after taking a
screenshot, the Rectangle select pointer shows (\), status message shows "cannot
subtract from an empty selection", and nothing is selectable.

Text tool and ellipse select work on screen shot image, however..
