[Gimp-user] Shadow problem

I added a grass jpeg to this photo with Gimp, but didn't select the shadowed
areas. What I'd like to do is to add the grass texture image to the shadowed
areas, but maintain the shadow color. Is there a way to layer the grass jpeg
under the shadowed areas and still keep the dark color?
