[Gimp-user] Scanner input?

I would like to scan directly into Gimp. I’ve installed the SANE install and the TWAIN SANE interface and it 
works; I can scan from within some other apps (GraphicConverter). I see that there’s a part of this link 
called Xsane but not available for OS X. 

Has anyone succeeded in scanning from Gimp on a Mac?
