[Gimp-user] changing the brush sizes

Hello,i'm very new to this version of gimp, I've tried it in the past but I
couldn't get what I wanted. I don't know how to change the size of the
paint brushes or where to look. Can someone please help me? I also have
found out on the filters drop down,maps-fractal effects,it appears not to
be working anymore,is there anything you can tell me about this? Thank you
for all your help.
