The point was the license is covered in legalese.  There's nothing wrong
with humanizing in layman's terms and stating that in terms of
contradiction the actual license take precedence.  Look at creative
commons.  They break out a few key points of their licenses and then link
to the full license for legal consumption.

You could write this text for the GNU GPL and LGPL, and discuss with the
FSF whether it represents the licenses appropriately.
