[Gimp-user] Feature Request: Custom Colors for Light & Dark Checks

I think this is the easiest way to achieve what I am seeking, but if another
way is better, I'm open to suggestions.
In short, I moderate a lot of images for fanart.tv and would like the
ability to have gimp use my default (darker) theme color for normal
operation of my padding color. When I am moderating I would like to be able
to hit a shortcut to make the padding color pure white so I can check for
cropped drop shadows and such easily.
The quickest way I've found so far is shortcuts to "From Theme" and "Select
Custom Color", in which I must select the color instead of having it already
set. Light and Dark Checks seem perfect for this type of usage but I can't
find a way to set the colors to what I need.

I asked for help at gimpchat.com
http://www.gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7714&p=100062#p100062, and
though I got some decent suggestions, I'm still searching for a way to
achieve this. I'm not opposed to hacking a bit as long as I don't have to
recompile, but thought this might be a useful feature for others as well.

Many Thanks for you consideration
