Fastest technique if the background is uniform (pure color), and the
outline of the subject is sharp:
- use magic wand to select backrground, with a low threshold
- grow the selection by 2px
- Colors/Color to alpha (use backrground color)
- Optional Layer/Autocrop and "Image/Fit canvas to layers"
- Export as PNG
