As a side note, the fact that other software do some way is *not* a 
usability point. There may be reasons why all the software do some way, 
and that reason could be a usability reason. But copying other software 
just for the sake of it is not IMO.

Of course, I'm just doing the devil advocate here. If there is no 
usability reason to do the opposite either, why not do the same? I 
understand this too. ;-)

I don't think it is. As far as I know either at least. Please open a bug 
report. Someone will have a look at it. :)

As I said in my previous email, I just test on 2.8.20 and I also notice 
the black on the left, same as you. Master still has black on the 
bottom, which kind of make me believe even more that it's just a bug.

I can't say though if that were different before. But the fact the help 
pages also show it with black on bottom (I haven't verified, but if you 
say so…) is a good hint that it has changed.
