[gexiv2] Getting raw Exif, XMP or IPTC data

Hi,

is there any way to get the raw Exif, XMP or IPTC metadata as opposed to every single tag? What I mean is the Exif representation as IFD tags and the XMP metadata as XML document. gexiv2_metadata_get_xmp_packet sounds interesting but it just returns an empty string for me.

Any advice?
