"make tests" requires that gexiv2 be installed before running.  That's
something we should check:

also support --includedir (is there a --libdir as well?), but as "make
tests" is really only for developers at the moment, I don't think it's
necessary.

Ok. I'll skip tests for the time being. 

I don't see a --libdir in the valac man page on my Fedora 20 system.

gexiv2 is installed in the buildroot before we run tests (The tests are
run after make and make install). The test should find the installed
files in the standard locations just fine. I'll dig up and see if I can
figure this one out.
