[gedit-list] 3.8 backport branch?

gedit developers,

Recently I've backported a couple of minor but helpful fixes from 3.10 onto the gnome-3-8 branch.  I'm interested in backporting a few more small fixes which would change or add strings.  But gnome-3-8 isn't the right place for those since it's long past string freeze and used for official releases.  Could I create a new branch for these fixes?  This would only be intended for individuals who want to build gedit 3.8 including these useful fixes - I don't think this would be used for anything official.

If I can make this branch, should I call it gnome-3-8-backport, or something else?
