[gedit-list] Compile and install gedit 3.8.1 on cent OS 6.4

Dear Gedit Developers and Users,

I am trying to compile and install gedit 3.8.1 on a cent OS 6.4 system.

When I run ./configure I get this error message:

checking for a Python interpreter with version >= 3.2.3... none
configure: error: no suitable Python interpreter found

I have Python 2.7.4 installed.

Is configure going to look for python 3?

I have also tried to use the following option:

 ./configure --enable-python=no

but it did not help.
