Hi guys,

In older versions of Gedit there used to be a plugin that would let me hide
the tab bar. I can't seem to find it on Fedora 15 with Gedit 3.0.2. Is it
still available?

If it isn't available, would you guys accept a patch enabling hiding the tab
bar with a Gsettings tweak? I'm reasonably proficient in Gobject and C.

I like to hide the tab bar because I have a widescreen monitor and the side
panel makes better use of the available screen real estate.

Hey,

the plugin doesn't exists because know you can just use a gsettings key.

See:

Hi,

I've just published gedit-markdown version 3.

Among others, support for [Markdown Extra] was added for highlighting,
snippets and HTML preview.

[Markdown Extra]: http://michelf.com/projects/php-markdown/extra/

Also, gedit-markdown installs an optional color scheme (*Edit >
Preferences > Font & Colors > Color Scheme*), that is more similar to an
HTML rendering, for example strong emphases and headers are in bold and
black font, links are blue and underlined, etc.

Since Markdown support was added directly into the shared MIME database
`shared-mime-info` ([bug report]), gedit-markdown no longer adds its own
Markdown MIME type file. Also, for purposes of compliance with the
specification, the extension `.mdtxt` is no longer supported; only
`.markdown`, `.md` and `.mkd` are supported.

[bug report]: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27441
