[gedit-list] How to select large amounts of text

Suppose I want to delete all the text from my current cursor location to the
end of the file? How would I do that. Most editors have a way to turn on a
select marker. Then moving the cursor causes all text from the marker to the
cursor to be selected. I couldn't figure out how to do this in gedit
however. A few times when I wanted to do this, the selected text was so
large it took me several minutes to select the whole area by dragging the
mouse over it. It worked, but was painful ... so I figure that you gedit
experts must have a better way.

(By the way, I'm using the latest windows binaries, so I can't use any gedit
features that came after those binaries were built).

Thanks

~Paul
