It would be good if you can provide the following:
1) What elements did you change, independent from changes in the
theme
All what I had in mind changing was the layout and/or widgets used to just give a much "less crowded" feel.
2) What is the rationale for changing these elements, and what
analysis/data do you base this on
I just base this on usability feel. I shall get all data required.
3) Is this something very specific to gedit, or are you proposing
these changes also GNOME wide
Well I have been trying to checkout the feel I get from a user perspective in Gnome and I just that many layouts for all they apps out there - I am trying to give suggestions as well in other gnome projects - e.g: Gnome Control Center can borrow a more "Nautilus " appreance as it is in OS-X.
4) Are you in any way in discussion also with other GNOME designers
to ensure a unified look for all GNOME applications (meaning, is
this part of some kind of new HIG)
I'm trying to involve myself as much as I can in Gnome. I would love to have a greater feel to it of usability - ease of use.
