Check this file:
/usr/share/gtksourceview-2.0/language-specs/vhdl.lang

That is an XML file defining the keywords to be recognized for highlighting. 
I searched for "std_log" and found "std_logic" and "std_logic_vector" on
lines 182 and 183.
