Dear programmers,
I use for science applications a software called "Igor Pro" from Wavemetrics. This is an IDE used for science graphing and calculations like Matlab. This software is unfortunately far from open source. Therefore it requires wine to run with linux and is therefore limited in its power compared to open source software. However, with this program, one can write scripts in text files wich gedit is more suited for, this is the reason why I often use gedit instead of the built in source code editor. However, gedit lacks the syntax highlighting for this language. I would therefore like to know if it may be siple to configure gedit or implement a new language for syntax highlighting (or if this highlighting only concerns open source languages).
Thanks in advance
Gnewbee
