Hmm I just started to hack on a multiview plugin in gedit.
The reason for a such plugin is lots of people today has a Wide TFT
screens like 22" and above ...
Maybe this is not HIG compliant but I dont care ;-)
IMHO its kind of stupid to not use the the screen width more in gnome
apps.
So why not have multiple textviews in gedit like this screenshot?
http://webdav.tielie.com/screenshots/multiview.png
The problem is My hack is not a good hack I am really using lots of
Quick & Dirty to get it to work.
Maybe this could be implemented in core gedit in some way? To avoid
problems with hacks like this.
Anyway the code example can be found here.
But remember this is VERY alpha code:
http://svn.tielie.com/filedetails.php?repname=Tielie+GPL+source
+repository&path=%2Fplugins%2Fgedit-plugins%2Fmultiview%2Fmultiview.py
Btw... Another plugin that i want too see is a kind of <Control>Tab (or
other keybinding) that will show a popuplistview with all opened
documents. Or is it only me that sometim,es have upto > 10 opened
sourcefiles in gedit in the same time when working with projects ;-)
Anyone who already is working on a sush plugin?
Greets
Mikael
