OK, I've now realised the gedit wrapping option isn't a real line
wrap, just a visual one. I had misinterpreted what I thought it was
supposed to do.
Is there a plugin that splits lines automatically to a given length as
you type? (I know of join/split, but that has to be triggered
manually).
