Not at all!
I agree that such a feature would be desirable (and it would fit my
workflow), but I definitely don't want to have to use yet another
editor; the relevant question here is whether this behaviour can be
replicated using a gedit plugin, or not.
I think that the general feature can be implemented (moving rectangular
regions around), but I'm unsure if it is possible to have the same
drag'n'drop UI.
