[gedit-list] Problem Installing Plugins

I'm trying to install auto-tab and latex-gedit plugin by putting both
of them under ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins/
directory, after restarting gedit, nothing was added in the preference->

plugins tab,

I'm using gnome with gedit 2.8.1, is this version not up2date?
