Sure, but that won't solve the problem since it's a very different
plugin.
You could check
the /apps/gedit-2/plugins/filebrowser/on_load/enable_remote gconf key.
It should be disabled. If it's enabled then the filebrowser plugin will
try to restore the last visited location (which might be remote) even if
it's a remote location. This could trigger the authentication.
I also have tons of remote locations in my bookmarks and I never have to
authenticate. Please let me know if this solves it for you and maybe you
can send me your ~/.gtk-bookmarks file? Also, does this still happen
when you remove the bookmark?
