Hi there,

I've just uploaded a new release of the LaTeX plugin for gedit. In the
meantime, it already provides the following key features:

 * dynamic autocompletion
 * auto-closing of environment commands
 * a wizard for creating new documents
 * fast insertion of common symbols and macros with support for
user-defined macros (either permanent or embedded in the document)
 * a clear representation of the document structure, including labels,
bibitems and included files
 * an additional toolbar providing useful editing and formatting commands
 * a smart backend for automated document compiling
 * support for rendering the document to various image formats
