I very much agree with this. While I understand Paolo's view, I also
think interdependent plugins is a good way to go. This could
facilitate plugin development a lot, IMHO. Isn't the treeview thing a
plugin too? If so, Kevin Kubasik's proposed solution for cvs/svn
wouldn't be possible either, right?

If categories are added, multiple categories should really be
possible, IMHO. As for whether or not categories is a good idea, I
guess it can be useful if done right, but Paolo has a point saying
that this doesn't always work out very well. Since the number of
plugins (and contributors) will probably be limited with Gedit, I'd
think it's feasible though. But I don't have very strong feelings
about this subject, as, like Paolo said, managing uncategorized
plugins shouldn't be too hard.

Great work on Gedit & the plugins btw, I very much like the path Gedit
has taken.
