Dear Sir

I obtained Gedit with a Linux red hat 7.3 distribution. It looks very
promising.

I have a DOS program called Global Editor or more simply Gedit. It is still
very usefull. This was produced by Cat Creek enterprises. I have tried to
contact the creator for upgrades but they no longer exist.

Question , Is your Gedit An offshoot of Gedit?.
