Geary 3.32 has been released. This is a feature release, primarily
aiming to align Geary's interface better with GNOME 3.32: Geary has a
new icon, the application menu has been moved to a burger menu in the
main window, sender images in conversations are now taken from the
the desktop address-book, and those without a custom photo are given
a personalised image with initials and background colour based on
their name. This release also comes with a number of bug fixes,
server compatibility improvements, and translations updates.
Mike, it's a great release!
I've noticed a slowdown at startup, but only on my desktop installation
(no problem on my laptop). Both installations are self-compiled from
current master on the same environment (Fedora 29).
When I launch Geary from the terminal, I see that it hangs for a few
seconds here:
$ geary -d
[msg] 14:42:02 0.054522 geary: geary-application.vala:245: Geary
master~gb7675510 prefix=/usr/local exec_dir=/usr/local/bin
is_installed=true
then the main window appears and everything works fine.
There's a key difference between my desktop and my laptop: in my
desktop I have a GNOME online account (Gmail) set up. Perhaps some
syncing/checking is happening? But why it's not logged?
