Re: [Geary] Unable to store server trust exception

Hey Mike,

I launched a vm here [1], which is one of the bigger hosting providers in Germany. The web interface can be reached in the upper right corner of the website via Login > Cloud.

The interface is very similar to Amazon AWS and you can launch different types of vms.
The smallest Ubuntu vm is Eur 3,- for one month when you run it the whole month, but they bill per use / hours the machine is running and you can throw it away, when finished.

When the vm is launched, they email you the ssh key passphrase and you can connect via ssh.

A simple "aptitude install dovecot-imapd && systemctl start dovecot" is enough to have dovecot listen on the IP of the vm.

The IP entered into the account settings of geary is what I used to trigger the pop-up.

BTW, the workaround mentioned here [2] works for me on Arch linux too.

I did a quick setup of an IMAP server in the cloud with a self signed cert to check this out.
This would be pretty useful for some testing of the new accounts dialog work I'm doing. Is there a cloud provider that makes this 1-click-ish that you used, or did you simply spin up a custom VM and install an IMAP server on it? Cheers, //Mike
