I would love to help too, in fact I also wrote to the former
maintainers what the situation is. And signed up to the list, but I
didn't follow former discussions. Agree re GNOME HIG, on Arch f.e. it
is actually easy to use pantheon mail, but looks a bit weird.
Unfortunately I do not know much about vala and my C is not the best,
so not sure how much help I can be.
