If your mail is all stored in remote IMAP mailboxes, then there's 
nothing to import - just point Geary at your account and it will find 
it all.

If you have mail in local folders on your computer (e.g. if you have 
been using POP) then you'll need to upload them to a remote IMAP 
mailbox using Thunderbird first, and you'll then be able to access it 
all from Geary.
