does Geary has a Spam Filter or is there a simple way to combine a
local SpamAssasin with Geary?
Not at the moment no. If you want to run SpamAssassin locally, your
best bet is perhaps to run a local IMAP proxy
<https://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/MailProxy> or run SA against your
remote folders <https://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/RemoteImapFolder>
There doesn't seem to be a bug filed for in-app spam filtering, so feel
free to file it as an enhancement here:
<https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=geary>. However I
feel that is that service-side spam filtering is more effective since
it can use a wider range of measures, and hence is usually the better
way to go.
