This looks like a known crasher in libsoup that is getting triggered by
code in the GTK widgets port. In my experience, this only tends to
happen when selecting a different conversation though, rather than
simply loading the first.
The bug report for libsoup has a similar looking trace:

the crash you are getting similar to the second one there?
