please say exactly what it said was missing.  i assume you attempted to compile and it said ~ “missing foo-n.mi can’t continue because package foo must be version n.m"

try these places:





also note you can start gnome with xdm-options, kdm, xdm (once configured), and other ways - though graphics and sound suppport vary

(ie, xdm-options doesn’t support voice login unless the system getpasswd() supports it or a program to do that is run, it’s graphics are low key, and not much for gnome is mouse selectable other than starting it)

Hi,

I was hoping to make a custom build of GDM with a modified layout of the
GUI. However, I'm having trouble finding the code that configures/creates
the GUI. It seems like it should be in chooser/ somewhere, but I'm not
seeing it.

What am I missing? Would someone mind pointing me in the right direction?
