Re: [gdm-list] gdm won't run after upgrade...

Brian & Ray, thank you.

I now have to make some admissions:)
I was using nvidia drivers from rpmfusion on f12 before the upgrade;
after the upgrade to fb14 they no longer worked - I think it was more
complicated than that because I was using drivers compiled via akmod for
the CCRMA rt kernel:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=1395490

Anyway, it didn't work after upgrade - I wasn't surprised. So, I
removed anything nvidia, akmod and anything else I could think of that
might be getting in the way. I installed the mesa packages for nouveau
and commented out rdblacklist=nouveau in /boot/grub/grub.conf. That
caused the screen resolution to be reset during boot (when it hadn't
before) which I assumed meant I had the driver and Xorg side of things
working - but perhaps not...

(iirc I had looked over Xorg.log which prompted the above)

Anyway, /var/log/gdm/:0.log & /var/log/Xorg.0.log copied below - which
seem to show a lack of a driver to my eyes, but after taking the system
back to nouveau from the proprietary nvidia drivers where to now?

Many thanks,
M.
