Is there a way to immediately reload custom.conf settings (to enable
timed login) without disconnecting active Gnome sessions? Our system is
a terminal server with many concurrent users, and we run GDM 2.14.8 on
Fedora Core 5.
Reading the man page, gdm-safe-restart waits until all users are logged
out. Then, gdm-restart works immediately but is "unsafe." Can't I have
it all? :) I don't understand the details of the system, but it seems
like it shouldn't be difficult.
IIRC, in the past I've tried 'killall -s SIGHUP gdm' (or something like
that), and it disconnected everyone.
