Hello! A few days ago I upgraded my Debian system from Sarge (3.1) to Etch (4.0). After that, gdmflexiserver (v2.16.1) does not work anymore. When I start the program, a new Xserver (or xnest-window) is created, but it closes immediately. Here is some output from the logs: Debug output ------------ | $ gdmflexiserver -d -n | Sending command: 'VERSION' | Got response: 'GDM 2.16.1' | Sending command: 'GET_CONFIG daemon/PidFile :0.0' | Got response: 'OK /var/run/gdm.pid' | Sending command: 'CLOSE' | Sending command: 'VERSION' | Got response: 'GDM 2.16.1' | Sending command: 'AUTH_LOCAL $AUTH_ID' | Got response: 'OK' | Sending command: 'AUTH_LOCAL $AUTH_ID' | Got response: 'OK' | Sending command: 'QUERY_VT' | Got response: 'OK 7' | Sending command: 'AUTH_LOCAL $AUTH_ID' | Got response: 'OK' | Sending command: 'CONSOLE_SERVERS' | Got response: 'OK :0,windy,7' | Sending command: 'FLEXI_XNEST :0 1000 $AUTH_ID /tmp/.gdm9793KT' | Got response: 'OK :20' | Sending command: 'CLOSE' (replaced AUTH_ID) Syslog ------ | gdmgreeter: Sending command: 'GET_CONFIG daemon/PidFile :20' | gdm: Handling user message: 'GET_CONFIG daemon/PidFile :20' | gdmgreeter: Got response: 'OK /var/run/gdm.pid' | gdmgreeter: Sending command: 'GET_CONFIG greeter/PreFetchProgram :20' | gdm: Handling user message: 'GET_CONFIG greeter/PreFetchProgram :20' | gdmgreeter: Got response: 'OK ' | gdmgreeter: Sending command: 'CLOSE' | gdm: Handling user message: 'CLOSE' | gdm: term_quit: Final cleanup | gdm: gdm_slave_quick_exit: Will kill everything from the display | gdm: gdm_server_stop: Server for :20 going down! | gdm: gdm_server_stop: Killing server pid 4479 | gdm: gdm_server_stop: Server pid 4479 dead | gdm: gdm_slave_quick_exit: Killed everything from the display | gdm: mainloop_sig_callback: Got signal 17 | gdm: gdm_cleanup_children: child 4478 returned 65 | gdm: gdm_child_action: In remanage | gdm: gdm_display_unmanage: Stopping :20 (slave pid: 0) | gdm: gdm_display_dispose: Disposing :20 | gdm: gdm_display_unmanage: Display stopped What can I try?
