Hello there:

I would like to start a new development[1] which is a very good idea and
IMO something to write "at all cost". The GoodWeather desklet is cool but
it's still using Sensors :-\

Do you think it's time to create a Control to replace the old fashion
Sensor? So this is a oportunity if you want to write code for gdesklets,
which would be included into the main branch and released with the next
versions.

I would be happy and honoured to help you to achieve this if you want.
