dear sir 

i have problems with gconf and here are the errors as you asked :

Exact error messages from any applications.

                                        Error starting Virtual Machine Manager: Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ for                                                                                                 information. (Details -  1: Failed to get connection to session: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-v9CjxGmWSj: Connection refused)

Exact version of GConf 1 and GConf 2 that you have installed.

                                    

                                  version 2.28.1 gconf2          

Output of ps jaxwww | grep gconf

                                    1 3841 2828 2828 ? -1 S 1000 0:00 /usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconfd-2

Output of gconf-sanity-check-1 or gconf-sanity-check-2 if any.
                                   no output at all

What operating system are you using, and what version of it.
                                ubuntu server 10.04 LTS 64bit

What appears in the user.* syslog (see above for how to turn on user.* syslog)

                                also here i donot have any output concerning gconf
