Hi,

Does gconfd only run when someone is logged in?
gconfd is typically run when login or when an application requires gconf services.
If it does run, does
it run as root when no one is logged into the system or can I configure
gconfd to run as any user when no one is logged in?
gconfd is per user, that is whoever requires service from gconf it is run for the user. It will exist after 30 seconds when no application requires its service anymore. Hence typically you can still see gconfd running a little longer when the last user log
out from the system.
