Gconf/Corba Errors

Hi,

Am running Gnome on my box and after a few days of usage I suddenly
start getting Gconf/corba errors every time I run an application that
needs to read or save preferences from Gconf.  

The error is:

An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for
ggv. Some of your configuration settings may not work
properly.Configuration server couldn't be contacted:

CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0
Configuration server couldn't be contacted:
 CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0
Configuration server couldn't be contacted:
 CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0
Configuration server couldn't be contacted:
 CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0

As a workaround deleting my ~/.gconfd directory and restarting GNOME
fixes the issue, but after few days of usage the problem starts again (I
couldn't succeed in getting a test case scenario which could reproduce
this).

Could someone help me out by giving me pointers from the above error
messages on what would have gone wrong...
