GARNOME 2.22.1 fails to compile under Ubuntu 7.10

Hi all
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 7.10 on a laptop which i use as my
third pc, and i obtain this error when doing "make paranoid-install":

Removing desktop/dasher causes the same error when compiling gnome-panel.
Is this a known issue or am i doing something wrong?
(it is not very important, since i don't use this laptop for testing
gnome, but just to know if i'm doing thing right)
